Cherry blossoms: Living symbols of Vietnam-Japan friendship
VOV.VN - Over the last few decades, cherry blossoms have become widely emblematic of Japan, its people, and Vietnamese appreciation of Japanese culture, says the Vietnam-Japan Cultural Exchange Association.

In furtherance of the celebration of the close-knit friendship between the two nations, more than 300 cherry tree branches will go on display this upcoming April 16-17 in Hanoi at the Thang Long Royal Palace.
“The subtle hues of the illuminated cherry blossoms at night is something residents and travelers to Hanoi should not miss,” said Vu Khac Lien, chairman of the Association, as the weather has been perfect and the branches in full bloom.

Suzuki Mari, the managing director of the festival, said other events planned for the 10th edition of the festival – include an authentic tea ceremony, calligraphy, traditional dances, along with informational events discussing what it’s like for Vietnamese to study or work in Japan.
