International silk and brocade festival gets underway in Hoi An

VOV.VN - The fifth international silk and brocade festival kicked off in Silk Village in the ancient city of Hoi An in the central province of Quang Nam on August 8, drawing the participation of artisans from eight countries from across the globe.

A ribbon cutting ceremony is held to open the event. The three-day festival will see a total of 80 artisans gather together from craft villages nationwide including Van Phuc, Nha Xa, Ma Chau, My Duc, Nam Cao, Tan Chau, and Cham Ninh Thuan.
Artists display their skills by weaving silk in an art show during the opening ceremony of the festival.
Artisans from Ma Chau craft village in the central province of Quang Nam showcase their talents through their traditional weaving and dyeing methods at the event.
An artisan demonstrates her brocade weaving skills to those in attendance.
Tourists take their time to visit a variety of booths during the festival. On display throughout the stalls are silk and brocade products from both Vietnam and foreign countries.
