International Puppetry Festival 2025 to spotlight Vietnam’s cultural values
VOV.VN - The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has approved a plan to organize the International Puppetry Festival 2025 in northern Quang Ninh province this November.

The event will showcase the artistic value of Vietnam’s puppetry tradition to international audiences, while offering Vietnamese puppeteers the chance to exchange experiences with leading troupes from around the world. It also seeks to honour the cultural quintessence of participating nations and highlight Vietnam’s own cultural heritage.
By promoting Vietnam as a safe, hospitable destination with UNESCO-recognized heritage sites, the festival is expected to foster cultural exchange and tourism development. It will also provide state management agencies with insights into the current state of puppetry at home and abroad, helping to shape strategies for the sustainable growth of Vietnam’s cultural industries.
According to the organizers, 12-15 professional puppet troupes from various countries and territories will be invited to perform, featuring both water and stage puppetry.
