Ho Chi Minh City to stage fireworks at 17 locations for Lunar New Year 2026
VOV.VN - Ho Chi Minh City will hold fireworks displays at 17 locations on Lunar New Year’s Eve for the Year of the Horse 2026, including four sites featuring a combination of high- and low-altitude fireworks and 13 sites with low-altitude displays only.
The plan was outlined in a directive recently issued by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee on organising fireworks celebrations for the Lunar New Year. The four main display sites will be located at key central and waterfront areas, while the remaining low-altitude displays will be spread across suburban districts and outlying localities.
Fireworks will be set off for 15 minutes, from 00:00 to 00:15 on February 17, marking the first day of the Lunar New Year.
Under the plan, the city’s Military Command will take the lead in coordinating preparations, including funding arrangements, operational planning and the execution of the displays, in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports and other relevant agencies.
The municipal police will be responsible for security and safety during the transportation and launch of fireworks, as well as at public viewing areas. Measures will also be taken for fire prevention, traffic management and waterway safety in affected areas.
