H'Hen Nie’s outfit ranks 7th among Missosology’s Best National Costumes
VOV.VN -Following the national costume segment of Miss Universe 2018, Missosology, has gathered the opinions of editors, correspondents and beauty experts to compile a list of candidates who stood-out during the National Costume contest. Following are the list of top 10:

10- Thailand The highlight of the Thai costume was the large, white elephant, entitled Chang – the icon of Thailand. It was designed by Tee Phasux. |

9- Laos The costume is inspired by traditional Laotian art. |

8- Japan The contestant from Japan wore a sailor moon costume. |
 |

7- Vietnam “A tribute to Vietnam’s ubiquitous snack called banh mi, this costume was carried by Miss Vietnam H’Hen Nie with pride”, Missosology wrote. |

6- Mexico The 14 kg costume is called “Reina Jaguar” and takes inspiration from the pre-Hispanic culture of the Mayans. |

5- Ecuador The costume of Virginia Limongi is titled as “La belleza en estado puro” (Beauty in its purest form). |

4- India The costume of Indian contestant Nehal Chudasama pays tribute to Rani Rudrama Devi, a southern Indian princess warrior. It represents the strength and courage of all woman and was created by designers Neeta Lulla and Melvyn Dominic Noronha. |

3- Canada Marta Magdalena Stępień’s national costume is called the Queen of the Maple Leaf and has been “inspired by the Canadian flag, and the historical significance that the maple leaf” holds to Canada. |

2- El Salvador Marisela de Montecristo’s costume is inspired by Festival de Panchimalco or the Fiesta de las Flores y Palmas (Feast of Flowers and Palms) which is held every May in El Salvador. |

1- Brazil The Brazilian representative Mayra Dias’s costume is inspired by the Parintins Folklore Festival, which is the third largest festival in Brazil (after the Carnivals of Rio de Janeiro and Salvador). |
