HCM City to celebrate National Day 2025 with diverse cultural festivities
VOV.VN - Ho Chi Minh City is set to celebrate the 80th anniversary of August Revolution and National Day with a rich lineup of cultural activities and art performances designed to inspire unity and national pride among residents and visitors.

According to Vo Ho Hoang Vu from the city’s Department of Culture and Sports, preparations have been completed, and multiple key events are scheduled to take place across the city in the coming weeks.
An exhibition highlighting Vietnam's 80-year development journey opened on August 19 and will last through to September 5. The exhibition is being held simultaneously at Nguyen Hue pedestrian street in Sai Gon ward, Dong Khoi street in Sai Gon ward, and Ba Cu street in Vung Tau ward.
A special art-political television programme titled Golden Opportunity, slated for 8:10 p.m. on August 22 on Vietnam Television, connects the Hanoi Flag Tower, Ngo Mon Square in Hue, and the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Ho Chi Minh City. The event highlights the country’s remarkable 80-year journey toward independence, unity, and national development.
On August 29, the municipal administration will hold an incense offering ceremony to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the martyrs' cemetery and historical sites, including Ho Chi Minh Museum, Ton Duc Thang Museum, and the President Ho Chi Minh Statue Park.
In particular, National Day on September 2 will see the city will stage art performances at Nguyen Hue pedestrian street in Saigon ward, the Central Park of the New Urban Area in Binh Duong ward, and Thuy Van Square in Vung Tau ward.
The evening’s celebrations will culminate in a 15-minute fireworks display at four designated sites from 9 p.m., including three high-altitude and one low-altitude locations.
To ensure widespread participation, the Department of Culture and Sports has coordinated with local authorities to bring 20 mobile art performances to various communes and wards between August 28 and September 2.
Ho Chi Minh City will organize promotional events in Hanoi, including a “Tỉnh giàu, nước mạnh” (Rich Province, Strong Country) exhibition, culinary booths, and a special cultural performance at the Vietnam National Exhibition Centre on August 29.
