Happy Vietnam exhibition showcases 200 stories of life and progress

VOV.VN - As many as 200 award-winning photographs and videos are on display at the "Happy Vietnam" exhibition in northern Quang Ninh province, celebrating everyday life, cultural identity and development of Vietnam through compelling visual storytelling.

The exhibition, which opened on June 26, is jointly organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Quang Ninh provincial People's Committee to mark the 25th anniversary of Vietnam Family Day (June 28, 2001 – 2026). Running through June 28, the event is a highlight of the 2026 Human Rights Media Awards programme in Vietnam.

The exhibition features photographs and videos selected from more than 40,000 entries submitted to the “Happy Vietnam” Human Rights Media Awards over the past three years.

Through photography and video, the works capture Vietnam’s political, economic, cultural and social development, while portraying everyday moments, acts of kindness, community spirit and the country’s development achievements.

Together, they present a portrait of a peaceful, dynamic and steadily developing Vietnam where people are at the heart of national development.

In his remarks at the opening ceremony, Ngo Thanh Hien, deputy director of the Authority of Grassroots Information and External Information, said Quang Ninh was chosen as the host venue because of its achievements in administrative reform, digital transformation, tourism development and improving people's quality of life.

These accomplishments reflect a development approach centred on people, ensuring that citizens benefit from economic, cultural and social progress, he stated.

Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, deputy director of the Quang Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the province measures success not only by economic growth but also by the happiness and well-being of its people.

She added that the exhibition conveys the message that happiness is built through inclusive development, cultural values, compassion and community solidarity.

Organisers said the “Happy Vietnam” Human Rights Media Awards have attracted growing public interest over the past three editions.

In 2025 alone, the competition received more than 17,000 entries, representing a 70% increase compared with 2024 and more than double the number submitted in 2023.

The exhibition is expected to honour outstanding creators, raise public awareness of human rights and further promote Vietnam’s culture, tourism and image to international audiences while inspiring a vision of a peaceful, compassionate and sustainably developing country.
