Mass wedding of 80 couples energizes Vietnam Happy Fest in Hanoi
VOV.VN - A mass wedding featuring 80 couples took place on December 5 along Hoan Kiem Lake’s pedestrian street, marking one of the most emotional highlights of Vietnam Happy Fest 2025 and drawing large crowds of onlookers.
The celebration symbolises 80 years of national independence, freedom and happiness, conveying a message of unity and community spirit. The ceremony honoured not only newlyweds, but also couples who have been together for 15, 30 or even 50 years, reinforcing values of love, loyalty and family happiness across generations.
Participating couples were offered full wedding support packages including attire, make-up, photography, cake-cutting ceremonies and gifts.
The event kick-started Vietnam Happy Fest 2025, a three-day celebration featuring 13 activities along Le Thai To - Hang Khay - Dinh Tien Hoang streets - Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square. offering a multi-generational perspective on happiness. Highlights include a photo exhibition on Happy Vietnam, a digital interactive space, an art photobooth, and a family health programme.
The festival will close with a free outdoor music gala on December 7, featuring young artists such as Bui Cong Nam and Lam Bao Ngoc. Organisers expect 200,000 to 300,000 participants to join the festivities.
Also, on this occasion, the organisers - the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the administration of Hanoi - launched a fund-raising ceremony to assist flood victims in central Vietnam.
