Hanoi food street to emerge as appealing tourist destination in capital
VOV.VN - An inauguration ceremony for the renovation project of the Tong Duy Tan food street was held on January 10 in Hanoi as part of efforts to turn the area into attractive tourist destination in the capital in the time ahead.
During his speech at the event, Pham Tuan Long, chairman of the Hoan Kiem District People's Committee, emphasized the significance of Vietnamese cuisine on the global culinary map. He noted that the renovation of the food street aims to create a more spacious and vibrant space within Hanoi’s historic Old Quarter.
Long expressed his hope that, with the renovation, Tong Duy Tan food street would eventually transform into a pedestrian-only area, becoming a must-visit destination for both domestic and international tourists.
A key feature of the food street is the "Pho ganh" sculpture. This 400-kilogram bronze statue depicts a traditional Pho vendor, symbolizing Hanoi's rich culinary culture from the early 20th century.
Situated in the alley of Hang Bong Street, Tong Duy Tan food street is expected to become a popular spot, attracting a growing number of tourists eager to experience Hanoi’s unique cuisine in the near future.
