Food lovers to taste Japanese and Vietnamese street foods at Hanoi festival
VOV.VN - Food lovers will have the chance to sample Japanese and Vietnamese street foods at “Japan-Vietnam Street Food Harmony” to be held on November 12 as part of the Hanoi Japan Festival 2023 that marks half a century of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Japan.
According to the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, three Vietnamese and three Japanese chefs will participate in the event.
Each chef will introduce two new dishes which are a Vietnamese-Japanese fusion to demonstrate the friendship that exists between the two countries.
The organisers will launch a vote for these dishes by six chefs of both countries at the https://jp-culinaryfes.vn website.
The most popular food which combines the culinary cultures of the two nations created by famous chefs will be announced on November 12.
Chef Shinobu Ito, a researcher of Vietnamese cuisine in Japan, will bring two dishes made from ingredients used in daily life, including Okonomiyaki-flavored grilled rice paper and grilled rice balls with fish sauce taste.
Meanwhile, Vietnamese chefs Huynh Thanh Lam and Nguyen Ba Phuoc will introduce popular local street food combined with Japanese flavours.
In mid-November, the organisers will also give out free e-books with recipes for these six dishes, along with chefs' instructions on how to cook them.
The Hanoi Japan Festival 2023 is scheduled to take place on November 12 and will feature many cultural, culinary, and music activities.
