Hai Phong to host ASEAN Graphic Arts Exhibition 2024

VOV.VN - The fourth ASEAN Graphic Arts Exhibition will get underway at the Hai Phong Museum this December, with the event offering a good chance for both Vietnamese and regional artists to showcase their talents whilst fostering ties of friendship among the regional artistic community.

The event is held every four years and aims to strengthen solidarity and mutual understanding among various ASEAN states.

On display will be a total of 151 works of 131 painters from 10 ASEAN member nations, including 16 pieces to receive awards. They were selected from 530 entries of 283 painters sent to the fourth ASEAN Graphic Arts Competition.

All entries had been created since 2020, encompassing woodcut, metal engraving, gypsum engraving, rubber engraving, on-stone print, unique print, and other forms of graphic art.

The themes of the entries focus on various aspects of life, humans, natural landscapes, country, peace, solidarity, co-operation, friendship, and contemporary issues.

The competition was first launched back in May, with the award ceremony and an exhibition is scheduled to take place on December 6. The exhibition will last through to December 20.

The ASEAN Graphic Arts Competition and Exhibition was first held in 2012, with this year marking the fourth edition of the event.
