The carnival will feature a number of events including a traditional product fair, an international workshop informing visitors on local agricultural products, and a photo contest with Hai Duong as the subject.
The event will also see vehicles carrying flowers and other typical products of the province being paraded along streets throughout the centre of the city.
Local authorities are to invite art troupes from neighbouring provinces to take part in some of the carnival’s art performances in order to honour their shared heritage.
Cultural activities will include “hat cheo”, a popular Vietnamese opera, “chau van”, a traditional folk art from northern Vietnam which combines singing and dancing, “hat xoan”, also known as Xoan singing, and water puppetry.
The street carnival was first held in Hai Duong province on December 30, 2018, with the previous version of the event attracting a large number of local residents and tourists.
