Free film screenings to mark 14th National Party Congress
VOV.VN - A special film screening programme featuring works of Vietnam’s revolutionary cinema will run from January 14 to 17 at Ngoc Khanh Cinema in Hanoi to celebrate the 14th National Party Congress.
The event, to be organised by the Vietnam Film Institute, will introduce four feature films and a selection of well-known animated films. It will vividly portray key chapters in Vietnam’s struggle for national liberation, reunification and the defence
The film “Đến hẹn lại lên” (When the Date Comes Again) produced by the Vietnam Feature Film Studio in 1974, directed by Tran Vu, winner of the Golden Lotus Award at the third Vietnam Film Festival, will open the film screenings at 9 a.m. on January 14.
The programme will continue at 7:30 p.m. on January 15 with “Sao tháng Tám” (The August Star) produced by the Vietnam Feature Film Studio in 1976, directed by Tran Dac, winner of the Golden Lotus Award at the fourth Vietnam Film Festival.
One day later the festival will introduce the film “Vĩ tuyến 17 – Ngày và đêm” (17th Parallel: Days and Nights) produced by the Vietnam Feature Film Studio in 1972. Particularly, People's Artist Tra Giang won the Best Actress Award at the Moscow International Film Festival in 1973.
In particular, the film “Địa đạo: Mặt trời trong bóng tối” (The Tunnel: Sun in the Dark) produced by HKFilm in 2025, directed by Bui Thac Chuyen, winner of the Silver Lotus Award at the 24th Vietnam Film Festival is set to bring audiences a look back at heroic historical memories at 8 p.m. on January 17.
Audiences will have chance to watch well-known animated films beloved by many generations, including “Đáng đời thằng cáo” (The Fox’s Comeuppance), “Con sáo biết nói” (The Talking Myna Bird), “Giai điệu” (Melody), “Sáng” (Light), “Xe đạp” (Bicycle), and “Sự tích cái nhà sàn” (The Legend of the Stilt House) at 10 a.m. on January 17.
