Day of Phở 2025 honours culinary heritage and promote global reach in HCM City
VOV.VN - Day of Phở 2025 officially opened in Saigon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City on the morning of December 13, promoting Vietnamese food, agricultural products, and brands.
In his opening speech, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Dung said that the event is more than a culinary festival as it promotes innovation and enhances the quality of products and services, while supporting modernized food processing, expanding export opportunities toward international market reach.
This year marks the ninth edition of the festival, carrying the theme “Nâng tầm gạo Việt – Lan tỏa năm châu” (Elevating Vietnamese Rice – Spreading Across Five Continents). Over two days (December 13-14), attendees can enjoy a variety of activities, from culinary experiences to entertainment programs, talk shows, mini-games offering prizes or Phở vouchers, instant photography, and on-stage interactions.
A highlight of the festival is the participation of nearly 30 Phở brands from North to South Vietnam. Some brands demonstrate noodle preparation, broth cooking, and serving on-site, allowing visitors not only to taste authentic Pho but also to witness the meticulous process behind each bowl.
Following the opening, the talk show “Phở ngày xưa, ngày nay và ngày mai” (Pho: Past, Present, and Future) featured speakers sharing real-life stories and professional insights. At 7 p.m., the session “Quảng bá ẩm thực ra thế giới” (Promoting Vietnamese Cuisine Globally) expanded on the broader narrative of Vietnamese gastronomy reaching international audiences.
Visitors can also explore Phở’s history, culture, and diversity at the exhibition areas “Câu chuyện của Phở” (The Story of Pho) and “Hành trình Ngày của Phở 12/12” (Pho Day Journey 12/12), featuring nearly a decade of the festival’s journey.
With a price of 40,000 VND per bowl, Day of Phở 2025 expects to serve over 20,000 portions over two days. At least 10% of the revenue will be allocated to the Phở Yêu Thương (Pho for Love) program, providing meals to residents in flood-hit areas of Đak Lak province in Central Highlands (formerly Phu Yen).
