Vietnamese Phở Festival serves as cultural ambassador linking Vietnam and Singapore
VOV.VN - The Vietnam Phở Festival 2025 opened at Our Tampines Hub in Singapore on October 18, drawing large crowds to sample Vietnamese cuisine and explore cultural exhibits.

This is the first time Phở has appeared in a dedicated festival in Singapore, creating opportunities to promote Vietnamese culture, cuisine, and trade between the two countries.
Under the theme “Phở–Enjoying together, growing together”, the event presented Vietnamese Phở as a “cultural ambassador”, fostering community connections while promoting cultural, tourism, trade, and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore.
Desmond Choo, Singapore’s Minister of State for Defence, highlighted that Pho tells a story of family, heritage, and the resilience of the Vietnamese people, reflecting how Vietnamese culture nourishes both body and spirit and connects people across borders.
The festival featured authentic Vietnamese Phở prepared by leading chefs and artisans, alongside other traditional dishes such as banh mi (Vietnamese sandwich) and nem (Vietnamese spring rolls) , creating a rich “culinary symphony” of Vietnamese flavors.
Visitors also experienced exhibitions of Vietnamese agricultural products, spices, and tourism services, as well as cultural performances combining traditional instruments with modern elements.
A key highlight was the Vietnam–Singapore forum on investment, trade, and tourism, attended by around 150 businesses from both countries. The forum facilitated direct networking and cooperation opportunities, thus supporting the development of new bilateral agreements.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Tran Phuoc Anh emphasized that the festival is particularly significant as it takes place amid the strongest period of Vietnam–Singapore relations, following the upgrade to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The event also helps promote Vietnamese culture in Singapore and strengthen the local Vietnamese community.
The Vietnam Phở Festival 2025 was organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore in collaboration with Tuoi Tre (Young Age) Newspaper, Saigontourist Group, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, and the Vietnamese Community Liaison Committee in Singapore, under the guidance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee. The festival runs from October 18-19.
