Da Nang Asian Film Festival launches DANAFF Industry Days
VOV.VN -US entertainment publication Variety has reported that the Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF) will officially launch DANAFF Industry Days as part of its fourth edition, scheduled to take place in the central city of Da Nang from June 28 to July 4.
The programme will draw 10 leading Vietnamese production companies, including Galaxy Studio, CJ CGV Vietnam, BHD | Vietnam Media Corp., Mockingbird Pictures, HKFilm and 89sGROUP, alongside international distributors, film studios and streaming platforms seeking film rights.
DANAFF Industry Days will be held on June 30 and July 1 during the festival week. The programme builds on the success of the Project Market introduced at DANAFF in 2025.
The event will open with a keynote address on Vietnam’s film market, followed by presentations of film projects from 10 major domestic production companies.
A series of DANAFF Industry Talks will also discuss the drivers of growth, opportunities and challenges facing the Vietnamese and Southeast Asian film industries.
Speaking to Variety, Asian film expert Jérémy Segay, who also serves as an adviser to the programme, said organizers aim to welcome 25 international film buyers to the inaugural edition.
Vietnamese cinema has reached a stage where a dedicated industry platform has become increasingly necessary as international film professionals show growing interest in the market, he added.
At the same time, local productions are becoming increasingly confident in their quality, technical capabilities and ambitions, demonstrating clear potential to reach international audiences beyond overseas Vietnamese communities.
Ngo Phuong Lan, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Film Development Promotion Association (VFDA) and Director of DANAFF, said DANAFF Industry Days is intended to create opportunities for both creative and business exchanges between Vietnamese filmmakers and industry professionals from the region and around the world.
According to Lan, the programme is designed to provide international guests with direct networking opportunities with key players in the industry, helping them explore new opportunities in Vietnamese cinema in the year ahead.
Notably, participants will also be able to experience the atmosphere of the festival in the coastal city of Da Nang. Distributors attending the programme may also extend their stay to join the DANAFF Project Market on July 2 and 3.
