Da Lat Flower Festival 2026 to expand its floral and musical landscape
VOV.VN - The 11th Da Lat Flower Festival, scheduled for December 19–31, will extend floral displays, music and cultural activities across the newly enlarged province of Lam Dong, showcasing its diverse attractions while promoting tourism and the local flower industry.
The festival is the first edition since Lam Dong, Binh Thuan and Dak Nong provinces were merged into the new Lam Dong province on July 1, 2025. Held every two years since 2003, the event returns in 2026 under the theme “Da Lat – A Harmony of Flowers and Music”, with activities planned across the province and a focus on the Da Lat area.
More than 70 communes and wards have launched a campaign encouraging residents and households to plant flowers and trees in preparation for the festival. Preparations also include flower-lined streets, floral installations and small flower parks to enhance local landscapes.
The 2026 Da Lat Flower Festival will also introduce several new concepts, such as integrating flowers with music through various programmes and events. Furthermore, it aims to foster the flower economy through flower and ornamental plant exhibitions, scientific and technological seminars, innovation-focused workshops, a vegetable and flower market, and a dedicated street for tea, coffee, and wine.
Dinh Van Tuan, vice chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee, said the expanded festival setting and greater community participation were expected to broaden the event’s reach. He noted that the enlarged province offers wider potential for socio-economic and tourism development, requiring extensive preparations by provincial departments and local administrations.
“Local authorities have directed the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to work closely alongside various other departments, agencies, and local authorities, to ensure thorough and high-quality preparations for the festival,” he said.
By extending activities across the newly enlarged province and highlighting Da Lat’s floral heritage in particular, the festival is to connect tourism, culture and the flower industry, as well as promoting local products to domestic and international visitors.
