Concert evokes memories of carefree childhood days
VOV.VN - Songs from the past at a concert by Hong Nhung and Bang Kieu on the evening of June 18 stirred powerful emotions and transported the audience back in time to their carefree childhood days.
It was like stepping into a time machine, says one member of the audience. I hear pieces of music from decades ago and it’s just like I’m transported back to those moments of my youth. |
Bang Kieu starts the evening with a time-honoured rendition of Lullaby (Bai hat ru) and First Day of School (Ngay dau tien di hoc). |
Hong Nhung in turn follows with two Russian childhood favourites Smile (Dan seu) and Cranes (Nu cuoi). |
Many in the audience say the songs remind them of the difficult but very bright days of the war period. |
I Go to School, I Go in the Middle of the Sea, I Am a Little Rose, Give Me Rice for My Mother to Sow, Rice, My Frog, and Only One in the World are all sentimental favourites of the audience. |
Songs are refreshed with modern, emotional and depth-of-art arrangements by musician Hong Kien. |
The Voice Kids winner Nhat Minh performs at the concert. |
Minh sings another audience favourite Rice Village (Bang Kieu).
|
Linh sings another audience favourite Rice Village (Bang Kieu). |
The special thing of the evening is how the children's songs are not for the kids but the parents and grandparents. |
Hong Nhung and Ngoc Linh sing the song Uncle Ho, Who Gave Me All.
