Can Tho girl crowned Miss Vietnam National 2024
VOV.VN - Nguyen Ngoc Kieu Duy, a 21-year-old from the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho, won the Miss Vietnam National 2024 crown after surpassing 58 other contestants in the grand finale held in Ho Chi Minh City on December 28.
The Can Tho girl who is 1.69m tall and has measurements of 88x63x90cm had previously held the titles of Miss Tay Do Beauty 2023 and Miss FPT Can Tho.
With her confident demeanor and fluent English communication skills, she captivated both the judges and the audience in various competition segments such as regional costume performance, traditional Vietnamese halter neck top, and a swimsuit showcase.
In the presentation round themed “Vietnam in My Heart”, Kieu Duy delivered a heartfelt speech expressing her deep pride in the country’s heritage and her love for her homeland.
In the final Q&A round, Kieu Duy was given a question “If you become Miss Vietnam National, what is the most beautiful aspect of Vietnam you would bring to the Miss International 2025 competition?”
In response to the judge’s question, the beauty said Vietnam has so many beautiful qualities and she wwould like to represent the image of a modern woman with a distinctive identity and a readiness to integrate globally, showcasing Vietnam to the world.
She said she has learned about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, helping to broaden her knowledge of global issues such as education and environmental protection that young people should acquire in today’s world.
“If I am fortunate enough to become Miss Vietnam National, I will channel the energy of the youth, spreading pride and inspiration for my country,” said the beauty.
Kieu Duy’s victory secured her a spot to represent Vietnam at the Miss International 2025 competition, following in the footsteps of Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy, who won Miss International in November.
The Miss Vietnam National pageant debuted this year with the goal of selecting a representative to Miss International 2025, one of the three major global beauty contests alongside Miss Universe and Miss World.
