Miss Vietnam 2024 beauty pageant launched with new format
VOV.VN - Miss Vietnam 2024 will be held in Hue, the former imperial city of Vietnam, for the first time, with several changes, including a reality television show, said the competition’s organizer Tien Phong.
The organizing board will adjust the schedule and format to align with the current situation, said Phung Cong Suong, editor-in-chief of Tien Phong newspaper and organiser of Miss Vietnam 2024, at a press conference in Hanoi on December 26.
This year’s competition will see the pageant’s qualifiers take place nationwide throughout January.
During the semi-final round, contestants will engage in a range of charity activities in Hanoi, Thua Thien-Hue province, Quang Tri province, and Ho Chi Minh City.
Along with charity projects, contestants will also participate in several tourism activities aimed at popularising Vietnam as a safe and friendly destination for visitors. Their activities will be broadcast through a reality television show which is to be included in the pageant’s schedule for the first time.
Hue city in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue will host the final round of the pageant in the middle of the year for the first time.
Since its inception in 1988, Miss Vietnam has emerged as one of the most prestigious national beauty contests aiming to honour Vietnamese women’s beauty, spirit, lifestyle, and talent.
Miss Vietnam 2024 is a biennial national beauty contest which is open for young Vietnamese women aged above 18. It aims to seek local beauties who will go on to represent the country at international pageants.
Most recently, Miss Vietnam 2022 Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy became the first Vietnamese beauty to be crowned Miss International held in Japan last November.
