Book fair to celebrate 72nd anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day
VOV.VN - The administration of Hanoi plans to host the 11th book fair in the pedestrian area around Hoan Kiem (Returned Sword) Lake from October 1-4 to mark the 72nd anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954–2026).
The event, themed Books Open Knowledge-Technology Leads The Future, aims to promote the historical, cultural, and revolutionary traditions of the capital and the country.
The main activities at the Hanoi Book Fair will consist of displays of books and documents featuring Thang Long - Hanoi culture and science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation. Readers will have a chance to experience the Thang Long cultural heritage e-book collection, and the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam e-book collection, helping them discover the tradition of studiousness, and renowned scholars.
The fair will also introduce books from foreign publishers, and cultural products from some foreign diplomatic agencies in Hanoi.
The event will include the launching of books by domestic and international publishers and distributors, seminars, copyright transactions, and cultural experiences, guidance for readers on online library card registration, other cultural exchange programmes and sideline activities.
Since its inception in 2014, the Hanoi book fair aims to promote a reading culture, encourage reading habits, and inspire community-driven reading movements to foster a learning society.
