Bollywood film crew begins shoot in Vietnam’s Son Doong Cave

VOV.VN - A Bollywood film crew arrived in Vietnam on July 30 to begin filming SILAA, with scenes to be shot in the stunning Son Doong Cave in Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, central Vietnam.

This marks the first Indian film to feature scenes shot in the majestic and unique caves in Phong Nha–Ke Bang and tourist destinations in Quang Tri such as Tu Lan, Tien Cave, Tan Hoa, and Dong Hoi. The production is expected to help showcase Vietnam’s natural beauty to global audiences.

The film is produced by Bollywood veteran Rahul Bali and directed by renowned filmmaker Omung Kumar, with leading roles played by popular Indian actors Harshvardhan Rane and Sadia Khateeb. SILAA tells an emotionally rich story with a universal message of love, humanity, and connection. The film is slated for international release in 2026.

Filming in Quang Tri is scheduled to take place from August 1 to 14, covering Son Doong Cave, Phong Nha, Tan Hoa, Tu Lan, and Tien Cave. The crew will then continue to other locations across Vietnam, including Cao Bang, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City.

At a welcome ceremony held at Dong Hoi Airport on July 30, Dang Dong Ha, deputy director of the Quang Tri Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, described the filming as a valuable opportunity for Quang Tri to develop tourism offerings linked to cinema, nature, and local culture.

Through the film, images of Quang Tri will be introduced to global viewers, helping attract more Indian tourists to the province in the future, he said.

Producer Rahul Bali shared that he was deeply impressed by the region’s majestic landscapes and the warmth of its people. He expressed hope that the beauty of Vietnam would reach a wider audience through the film.
