Indian Film Festival brings acclaimed Bollywood titles to Lai Chau

VOV.VN - The Indian Film Festival opened on May 23 in northern Lai Chau province, featuring screenings of four acclaimed Bollywood films: RRR, English Vinglish, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (You Only Live Once), and Dangal (Wrestling Competition).

These well-known movies offer audiences insights into Indian society and reflect the evolution of Indian cinema in recent years. All films are screened with Vietnamese subtitles and will be shown free of charge through May 26.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Tran Manh Hung, Director of Lai Chau Province’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the festival serves as a chance to introduce the land, culture, and people of India to local residents.

In her opening speech at the film festival, Dr. Monica Sharma, Director of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre under the Indian Embassy in Hanoi, said the Indian Film Festival in Lai Chau province aims to present Indian cinema, which boasts a history of over 100 years and has won global admiration for its profound and humanistic role in society.
Dr. Sharma expressed her hope that audiences in Lai Chau would enjoy and appreciate the outstanding Indian films screened during the event.
