In his opening remarks, Vietnamese Ambassador to Belarus Nguyen Van Trung praised the diverse, vibrant, and practical initiatives organized by the Vietnamese Association in Belarus to uphold community solidarity and preserve the traditional cultural values of the Vietnamese people abroad.
He noted that preserving and honoring the Vietnamese language has become a prominent cultural activity within the community, with the Vietnamese Language Summer Camp standing out as a valuable initiative. Now in its fourth edition, the camp continues to receive enthusiastic and widespread support from the overseas Vietnamese community.
Building on this foundation, Ambassador Nguyen Van Trung officially launched the campaign to honor the Vietnamese language and promote Vietnamese culture, identity, and values. The event is part of the implementation of the Government’s project “Day to Honor the Vietnamese Language in the Overseas Vietnamese Community, 2023–2030” and also contributes to commemorations of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s founding and other major national celebrations in 2025.
Also at the event, Vice President of the Vietnamese Association Nong Van Thin expressed gratitude for the Party and State’s attention to the lives and cultural activities of Vietnamese people abroad. He thanked the Embassy for its support and sponsorship of the event and expressed hope that Vietnam’s representative offices would continue to support not only initiatives related to the Vietnamese language but also broader community cultural and exchange activities.
On behalf of the Vietnamese language class, teacher Nguyen Phuong Dung shared that with the support of the Embassy and several donors from the community, the 2025 Vietnamese Language Summer Camp will run for four days and feature a wide range of creative and diverse activities for children of different ages. These include children’s performances, singing, poetry recitation in Vietnamese, drawing contests, handicrafts, storytelling, and peer interaction in the mother tongue.
