5th OWHC Asia-Pacific Regional Conference concludes in Hue
VOV.VN - The fifth Regional Conference of the Organisation of World Heritage Cities - Asia and the Pacific (OWHC-AP) concluded on October 16 in Hue city, following three days of productive discussions.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Nguyen Thanh Binh, Standing Vice Chairman of the Hue City People’s Committee, highlighted that this year’s conference, held under the theme “ “Quality of life and the sustainable development of world heritage cities,” achieved meaningful outcomes.
He noted the event laid a strong foundation for new collaborative initiatives in heritage conservation and efforts to enhance urban livability in heritage cities.
Delegates from seven countries shared experience and successful models related to heritage preservation, the integration of technology, sustainable urban development, and community participation.
The conference’s thematic discussions and expert panels reaffirmed the OWHC-AP as a vital platform for fostering cooperation among regional heritage cities.
Binh also reaffirmed Hue’s ongoing commitment as Vietnam’s first World Heritage City, advocating for the principle: "Preserve the past to nurture the future, develop today to ensure heritage endures."
The conference also announced that the 6th OWHC-AP Regional Conference will be hosted by Andong, the Republic of Korea, in 2027. Hue extended its congratulations and expressed confidence that the next conference would continue to foster regional cooperation and further the shared mission of safeguarding and promoting heritage values.
