114 contestants vie for Miss Earth 2023 crown in Vietnam
VOV.VN - As many as 114 contestants from around the globe will take part in the Miss Earth 2023 pageant to be held in Ho Chi Minh City this December, a press conference heard on October 16.
The contest will be mainly held in Ho Chi Minh City, along with sidelines activities to take place in other localities such as Dong Nai and Ba Ria-Vung Tau, said Truong Ngoc Anh, president of Miss Earth Vietnam 2023.
This pageant aims to find contestants with not only beauty and intelligence, but also a passionate love for the environment and community that makes Miss Earth different from other beauty contests, said Anh.
The contest which is scheduled to last from December 1 to 22 will comprise several segments, such as a national costume competition with the outfit made from recycled, environmentally friendly materials; a swimsuit competition; a talent contest, among others.
Miss Earth 2023 will organize a Fashion Nature contest for young designers, to promote the use of environmentally friendly materials and protect Mother Nature.
Overseas Vietnamese girl Do Thi Lan Anh, who was recently crowned Miss Earth Vietnam 2023 will then represent Vietnam at the coming 23rd Miss global contest.
This is the second time Vietnam has played host to this global pageant, following the first time in 2010.
