Upon addressing the forum, Vietnam’s Ambassador to Cambodia Vu Quang Minh emphasised that businesses located throughout the Mekong Delta region have great potential for cooperation with Cambodian partners due to a favourable geographical location for trade exchange, in addition to supplements of economic sectors among firms and markets of both nations.
This forum provided an opportunity for enterprises from both countries to boost connectivity with customers in the fields of investment and trade and fully tap into the potential and strengths of each respective nation.
Nguyen Phuong Lam, VCCI Director of the Can Tho Branch, expressed his hope that the forum will herald in a new co-operation relationship between busineses from both Vietnam and Cambodia.
He noted that domestic businesses consider Cambodia to be a close, important, reliable, and effective partner.
Most notably, the Mekong Delta region remains the nation’s largest agricultural region whilst simultaneously bordering Cambodia. It has plenty of similarities in terms of population and natural conditions which serve to offer the best possible conditions for economic co-operation.
To mark the occasion, the VCCI have also organised the Caravan program in a number of provinces and cities throughout Cambodia under the theme of “Caravan – A Journey Connecting Vietnamese and Cambodian Businessmen”, attracting the participation of a range of firms from across both nations.
