The latest move sees the Taiwanese firm Pegatron become the latest Apple assembly partner to seek to establish a presence within the Southeast Asian region.
This comes as many enterprises look at creating strategies aimed at diversifying the location of their production facilities outside of China.
Plans are already well underway with Pegatron choosing to rent facilities in the northern city of Hai Phong, according to information released by Bloomberg.
Following the ongoing two-year trade war that has been taking place between the United States and China, many global firms are looking to shift production facilities to Vietnam.
Pegatron’s move comes following GoerTek Inc. now choosing to produce their AirPods in Vietnam, while two other Apple assembly partners, Compal Electronics Inc. and Luxshare Precision Industry Co., have also made moves to establish a presence within the Southeast Asian nation.
