ADB role in Vietnam's socio-economic development praised
(VOV) -Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has extolled the highly important role of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Vietnam’s socio-economic development, notably in poverty reduction and clean water supply while receiving outgoing ADB Country Director Tomoyuki Kimura on June 22 in Hanoi.
Hai expressed his appreciation for Kimura's successful working tenure in Vietnam as well as his remarkable contributions to bolstering cooperation between the country and the ADB.
He expressed his wish that the outgoing ADB Country Director would continue to further enhance the relations in his new position.
Kimura in turn congratulated Vietnam on its tremendous socio-economic development achievements, underlining the need to continue reforms so as to maintain sustainable development and efficient poverty reduction.
He assured that the bank would stand side by side with Vietnam during the nation's development process while briefing his host about the ADB's major policy and strategy orientations to support member countries.
