Communicating the national election to the public

VOV.VN - Efforts are being made to help people understand their right and obligation to vote in the elections for the 14th National Assembly and People’s Councils.

Phu Xuyen district on the outskirts of Hanoi has been publicizing the elections twice a day on the local loudspeaker system. Pham Kim Tinh, Vice President of Phu Xuyen district’s Fatherland Front, said a communication program focused on the election law has been launched in 2 townships and 26 communes.

“After the 3rd consultative meeting, the Fatherland Front began a communication program on the National Assembly election. We explain the people’s right and obligation to cast their ballots.”

Some localities have worked with the Lawyers’ Association to answer people’s questions about the Law on the Election of the National Assembly and People’s Councils.

Documents and leaflets have been widely distributed, and banners and posters have been displayed in public places. The Kon Tum Cultural Center has sent a mobile communication team to remote areas to inform ethnic minority people about the election.

Head of the team Nguyen Thi Ngoc Huong said “We have prepared an informative talk about the elections and a Q&A session. We have staged short plays to explain anything about the polling stations, the candidates, and their qualifications.”

National Assembly Vice Chairwoman and Vice Chairwoman of the National Electoral Council Tong Thi Phong says the General Election is an important political event. “Communications work must be comprehensive. It’s important to encourage people to vote to make the election a success.”
