Top legislator inspects election preparations in An Giang

VOV.VN - On May 9,  an inspection team from the National Electoral Council led by National Assembly (NA) Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan continued their checks and supervision of preparations for the General Election in An Giang province.

NA Chairwoman Ngan acknowledged An Giang’s proactive and careful implementation of the election plans and called for greater efforts to ensure a fair, democratic and objective election.

“We want more meetings, where the people can listen to our plans of action and discuss them with us. I think this act is democratic and lawful, bringing candidates closer to the people to understand their hopes and aspirations.

We try to do our best because there are only ten days left. Meetings with voters should be lawful, safe and effective. Candidates have equal rights in campaigning, no matter what position they hold," Ngan said.

The same day, the inspection team checked on election preparations in Long Xuyen city and My Hoa Hung commune.

An Giang province has established 1448 election units to help 1.6 million local voters cast their ballots.
