Mid-Autumn Festival delights tourists in Hanoi

(VOV) -International visitors to Hanoi are in high-spirits, captivated by the activities of street vendors, as they scurry about making preparations for the upcoming traditional Mid-Autumn Festival.

These days, large numbers of tourists are flocking to Hang Ma street in Hanoi’s Old Quarter to view the charming decorations and toys on sale for kids during the festival, which falls on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month (or September 8 this year).

Such hand-made products as lanterns, masks and lion heads are drawing special attention of foreigners who want to learn more of Vietnamese culture and traditional customs.

In recent years, artistically designed high quality Made-in-Vietnam toys have overtaken those imported from China.

Many shops on Hang Ma Street are introducing lanterns made by traditional craft villages nationwide.
