Thailand: 80kg bomb neutralised in the south

Thai police announced that an 80-kilogramme bomb was found and neutralised in Rueso district of the southern province of Narathiwat on August 21.

The search began at 1:30am following information received from Abdulateh Riang, a bomb maker of the Runda Kumpulan Kecil (RKK) insurgent group, who was arrested on August 4 with two home-made bombs.

He told the police that bombs had been hidden in the district’s Riang commune.

The search team found the 80-kilogramme bomb buried in the ground and destroyed it.

Another man suspected of RKK involvement was arrested for posessing five military-grade guns.
