Suspected MH370 plane wreckage found in Thailand

A piece of suspected plane wreckage recently found off the coast of southern Thailand has fueled speculation that it may belong to Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370, which vanished nearly two years ago, said a local official.

The large metal piece washed over ashore in Nakhon Si Thammarat province and villagers then reported it to authorities for identification, according to Tanyapat Patthikongpan, head of Pak Phanang district.

He added that the debris measures 2 metres in width and 3 metres in length.

The Thai media guessed that the suspected wreckage could belong to MH370, which disappeared with 239 people on board during a fight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing in March 2014.
