RoK vessel attacked off southern Philippine coast
Armed men believed to be members of the Abu Sayyaf group have hijacked a Republic of Korean (RoK) vessel off the island of Tawi-Tawi in the southern Philippines, seizing its two crew members.

Spokesman Filemon Tan of the Western Mindanao Command, said in a statement on October 21 that the RoK vessel was attacked on October 20 by 10 armed men aboard a speedboat from Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.
Perpetrators are alleged followers of Abu Sayyaf group under Jul Hassan based in Sulu, the statement read.
Tan said that all military units have been alerted to look for the missing crew members.
The Abu Sayyaf Islamic militant group was established in the 1990s. The group consists of about 400 gunmen based in the southern Philippines.
