Mexico-Asia Pacific committee set up
The Mexico-Asia Pacific standing committee (CEMAP) has been set up, aiming to tightening multi-faceted cooperation between Mexico and nations in the Asia Pacific region.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico Le Linh Lan attended conference.
The committee includes Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong (China), India, Indonesia, Japan, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the Republic of Korea, Laos, Macau (China), Maldives, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, New Zealand, Russia, and several American countries, such as Canada, Chile, Peru, Mexico and the US.
The formation of CEMAP is also aimed at strengthening the participation of Mexican localities in drafting foreign policies.
At the event which drew the participation of ambassadors and representatives from 13 countries and territories, Governor of Coahuila State and CEMAP Chief Coordinator Gabino Cue Monteagudo called on the Mexican states’ authorities to introduce economic potential and development projects to countries in the Asia-Pacific region in order to lure more investment and create more jobs.
Mexican Foreign Ministry's undersecretary for North America Jose Paulo Arreno King stressed the importance of the CEMAP establishment in the context that Mexico advocates boosting multifaceted cooperation with the Asia-Pacific region through a number of mechanisms, including the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement.
