Malaysia confirms debris in Mozambique has MH370 features

Malaysia’s authorities declared on March 24 that two pieces of debris found in Mozambique and allegedly from MH370 were consistent with panels from a Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 aircraft.

Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai said investigators seemed certain that the "dimensions, materials and construction" of both pieces followed Boeing 777 specifications, while their "paint and stencilling” matched those used by Malaysia Airlines (MAS).

Earlier the same day, Australia's transport minister Darren Chester said in a statement that the wreckage was "almost certainly” from the missing flight MH370.
Malaysian Airline Flight MH370 disappeared on March 8, 2014, en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, with a total of 239 passengers and crew members on board.

Since then, a massive search led by Australia has been deployed in the southern Indian Ocean, where analysts said the aircraft ended its journey.

In July 2015, a wing fragment of MH370 was found on the French island of La Reunion in the Indian Ocean. It is the only confirmed fragment discovered so far.
