Malaysia, China to open new sea route

Malaysia and China signed a Memorandum of Understanding on June 25 on opening a new sea route to boost bilateral trade and investment, according to Malaysia’s The Star news website.

The route is expected to connect Kuantan city in Malaysia’s Pahang state and Huizhou city in China’s Guangdong province.

The website quoted Malaysian Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai as saying that the cooperation is one of the initiatives to enhance trade and economy between the two countries under the “One Belt, One Road” strategy.
