Laos hosts 20th ASEAN Finance Ministers’ Meeting
The 20th ASEAN Finance Ministers’ Meeting (AFMM) kicked off in Vientiane, Laos on April 4.
At the event, delegates heard the AFMM Chair’s reports on the implementation of initiatives related to infrastructure assistance, insurance, customs, terrorism and money laundering in the ASEAN financial cooperation channel.
Meanwhile, the Finance Minister of the Philippines, which will assume the Chair of ASEAN in 2017, will brief participants on the country’s activities next year.
On the same day, the 12th ASEAN Central Governors’ Meeting (ACGM) also opened in Vientiane.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) groups Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, Brunei, and Vietnam.
