Lao Prime Minister visits Cambodia

Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith started his two-day official visit to Cambodia on June 27 in order to enhance the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two neighbouring countries. 

According to Assistant to the Cambodian PM Ang Sophonlek, Sisoulith and his Cambodian counterpart Samdech Hun Sen mentioned measures to bolster bilateral ties and deal with existing border issues. 

Both sides agreed to open new border gates to facilitate travel between their people as well as boost cross-border trade, investment and tourism. 

Host and guest also reached consensus on opening an additional Lao Consulate General in S’tung Treng province slated for inauguration on June 30, and a Cambodian Consulate in the city of Pakse, Champasak province on July 1.
