Indonesia warns foreign illegal fishing vessels
The Government of Indonesia on June 29 issued a warning against foreign fishing vessels attempting to illegally operate in the country’s waters.

Jakarta will take maximum efforts to combat illegal fishing, including establishing a task force called Satgas 115.
According to Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Susi Pudjiastuti, the country has sanked 162 foreign ships across its waters.
In July, the country’s task force expects to sink another 30 violating vessels.
President Widodo ordered sinking foreign illegal fishing vessels just after he took the office in October 2014.
Over 5,400 ships operate illegally in the country’s waters every year, according to Widodo.
