Egypt backs Vietnam’s peaceful East Sea solution
(VOV) -Egypt supports Vietnam’s efforts to settle East Sea-related issues through political negotiations and peaceful solutions.
Egyptian Deputy Foreign Minister in charge of Asia, Ahmed Ismail made affirmation during a working session with a Vietnamese delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee's Commission for External Relations, led by deputy head Nguyen Tuan Phong, who are visiting to Egypt from June 14-17.
He highly valued bilateral traditional friendship, and showed his deep concern over the complicated situation in the East Sea.
Nguyen Tuan Phong briefed his host of Vietnam’s situations and touched upon China’s illegal placement of its oil rig in Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone and continental shelf.
Both sides discussed measures to foster their time-honoured relationship in the future by promoting visit exchange, accelerating the implementation of signed agreements, and organizing the 5th meeting of the Inter-Government Committee as soon as possible.
While staying in Egypt, the Vietnamese delegation also worked with some Egyptian Party leaders who expressed their admiration for the late President Ho Chi Minh and legendary General Vo Nguyen Giap, as well as Vietnam’s glorious victory during the past struggle for national liberation.
They hoped Vietnam and Egypt will strengthen their relations, especially among parties thorough specific measures.
Earlier, the Vietnamese delegates paid a working visit to Palestine from June 9-12 and Israel from June 12-14.
