Welcome week held for Vietnamese tourists in RoK

VOV.VN - The Republic of Korea (RoK) is set to hold a week dedicated to welcoming Vietnamese tourists to the country from September 2-8, according to the RoK’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Information on the week was released during a recent meeting held between representatives from the RoK’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and their Vietnamese counterparts.

The move aims to attract more Vietnamese tourists to the RoK whilst also strengthening cultural exchanges between the two nations.

In 2018, the RoK welcomed some 450,000 Vietnamese tourists to the East Asian nation.

Vietnam represents the seventh largest market in terms of the number of tourists travelling annually to the RoK, whilst more than 3.5 million Korean visitors paid a visit to Vietnam last year.

During the first half of the year, over two million Korean visitors traveled to Vietnam. This figure makes the RoK the second largest market for international tourist arrivals for the Vietnamese tourism industry, following China.
