Vietravel Airlines launches HCM City – Bangkok air route
VOV.VN - Vietravel Airlines’ flight VU131 took off from Tan Son Nhat International Airport and landed at Suvarnabhumi Airport on February 9, marking the launch of the first commercial route connecting Ho Chi Minh with the Thai capital Bangkok.
Upon addressing the opening ceremony, Vu Duc Bien, general director of Vietravel Airlines, emphazized that with an occupancy rate of 91%, the opening of the international Hanoi – Bangkok route late last year can be considered as a success for the airline.
Through the launch of the new service, the local carrier is expected to optimise flight options to meet the growing travel demand for travel among people of the two countries, especially during the peak summer season.
Wiraka Moodhitaporn, Consul General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City, expressed her belief that with the advantages of a complete tourism ecosystem from parent company Vietravel, the carrier will offer a great option for passengers thanks to its wonderful experience and reasonable costs.
According to the latest report released by Fitch Solution, experts predict that international tourism will grow strongly in the 2023 to 2026 period with turnover reaching the milestone of US$13.2 billion in 2026.
Thailand is viewed as a key market as Vietnamese customers are starting to tighten their spending after the COVID-19 pandemic.
The launch of additional international flights by Vietravel Airlines to Ho Chi Minh City in the first quarter of the year is expected to attract more domestic and foreign tourists amid the peak summer season.
Vietravel Airlines, which began operation in late 2020, has been listed among one of the three airlines with the on-time performance (OTP) rate reaching 93.2% throughout 2022.
The carrier also successfully been ranked well in Asia's Leading New Airline Award at the World Travel Awards and was named among the world's best leisure airlines at Skytrax World Airline Awards.
The airfares on the Ho Chi Minh - Bangkok are on sale via all official channels of the airline with a special preferential price from VND18,000, excluding taxes and other fees.
Vietravel Airlines has been operating a modern narrow-body aircraft A321, with a frequency of one round-trip flight per day, with the airline expected to continue to increase its frequency to meet market demand moving forward.
