Vietnamese tourism promotion programme introduced in Europe

VOV.VN - A Vietnam - Europe Tourism Promotion Programme has been held at the Bayerischer Hof Hotel in Munich, Germany, to introduce Vietnam as a friendly, attractive, and safe destination to key European markets.

The event, co-organised by national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines (VNA), Saigontourist Group, and Munich Airport, is part of a series of activities to celebrate the launching of a direct flight between Vietnam and Munich and the 20th anniversary of the Vietnam-Germany direct air route.

Addressing the event, Le Duc Canh, executive vice-president of Vietnam Airlines, shared that Vietnam, which boasts a rich and diverse tourism potential, has become a popular destination for international tourists, especially those from Europe.

He noted that over recent years, the rapid increase in the number of European tourists to the country has affirmed its position on the global tourism map.

Vietnam Airlines is proud to serve as a bridge to bring European tourists to Vietnam, Canh stressed.

He expressed his belief that with extensive cooperation and sustainable development strategies, Vietnamese tourism will continue to achieve more successes in Europe in general and Germany in particular.

Within the framework of the programme, representatives of Vietnam Airlines signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) on aviation and tourism cooperation with several partners, including Saigontourist Group, Saigontourist Travel, Studiosus Reisen Munchen GmbH, and Kuoni Global Travel Services Limited.

The MoUs will not only contribute to promoting tourism between the two countries, but also create a golden opportunity for the respective parties to share experiences, improve service quality, and develop sustainable tourism products.

Vietnam Airlines has launched its first and only direct flight between Vietnam and the Bavarian capital of Munich.

The inaugural flight, VN35, departed from Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport at 00:05 a.m. on October 5. This service departs twice weekly from Hanoi to Munich on Fridays and Sundays, and from Munich to Hanoi on Mondays and Saturdays, using Boeing 787s.

For the Ho Chi Minh City– Munich service, flights leave from Ho Chi Minh City on Mondays and Munich on Tuesdays. Additional frequency will be seen from December with flights departing Ho Chi Minh City and Munich on Wednesdays and Thursdays, respectively.
