Vietnam promotes tourism in Canada

The land and people of Vietnam have been introduced to the ongoing 29th International Tourism and Travel Show in Montreal city, Canada’s Quebec province.

Apart from publications on Vietnam, conical hats, bamboo dragon flies and other handicrafts were displayed at the two Vietnamese booths.

The show, from October 20-23, accommodates more than 200 pavilions from 70 countries and territories worldwide.

Over 36,000 people are expected to pass through the turnstiles where they have a chance to tour more than 250 attractive destinations around the world, from North and South America to Europe, Asia, Africa and the Caribbean region.

Within the framework of the show, there are tens of workshops on tourism, along with special art performances.

The event also offers an opportunity for travel companies to exchange experience and seek partners.

Vietnam welcomed more than 9.4 million international tourists in the first nine months of 2017, a year-on-year rise of 28.4%.

Meanwhile the number of domestic visitors hit 57.9 million in January-September.

The tourism sector grossed VND376 trillion (US$16.54 billion) in revenue, up 26.5% against the same period last year.
