The Ministry of Finance will impose strict sanctions and dismiss any custom officer who harasses tourists when they exit the country, according to a new regulation.
The ministry has recently sent a note to the customs departments of some provinces and cities that have international airports and seaports, requiring their officers to "improve their attitude" towards passengers.
It strictly prohibits harassment acts against tourists, saying those who violate this rule will be dismissed or face other sanctions.
It said customs officers are only allowed to check the baggage of passengers who exit the country only when prohibited products are detected.
