Vietnam nominated in various categories at 31st World Travel Awards
VOV.VN - Vietnam has been nominated in various categories at the World Travel Awards (WTA) 2024, with the results to be unveiled in its Grand Final 2024 to take place in the idyllic Atlantic islands of Madeira this November.
This year’s edition of the awards has seen Vietnam nominated for Asia's Leading Beach Destination 2024, Asia's Leading Culture Destination 2024, Asia's Leading Destination 2024, Asia's Leading Heritage Destination 2024, Asia's Leading Natural Destination 2024, and Asia's Leading Youth Travel Destination 2024.
Furthermore, Ho Chi Minh City is featured among the list of nominees for the Asia's Leading Business Travel Destination 2024 award, while Hanoi is among the nominees for both the Leading City Break Destination 2024 and Asia's Leading City Destination 2024.
Elsewhere the Hanoi Department of Tourism and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism are nominated for Asia's Leading City Tourist Board 2024, while the Quang Nam Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is on the list of nominees for Asia's Leading Regional City Tourist Board 2024.
Hoi An town of Quang Nam province and Hue city of Thua Thien - Hue province are also candidates for the title of Asia’s Leading Cultural City Destination.
Meanwhile, the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang province and the northern province of Ha Nam are among the nominees for Asia’s Leading Emerging Tourism Destination 2024 award.
Most notably, this year has seen Ha Nam also named as a candidate for Asia's Leading Regional Cultural Destination 2024 title.
Moreover, the central city of Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City are nominated for Asia's Festival and Event Destination 2024, while Phu Quoc island in southern Kien Giang province is among the nominees for Asia's Leading Luxury Island Destination 2024.
Moc Chau in the northwestern province of Son La is a candidate for Asia's Leading Regional Natural Destination 2024.
In addition, many famous Vietnamese brands such as resorts, hotels, airlines, and travel agencies have also received nominations in WTA 2024 categories.

Voting will give Vietnamese tourism the chance to continue to be honoured at the world’s prestigious awards dubbed “the Oscars of tourism”, thereby further popularising the country as a hospitable destination for visitors from far and wide.
Last year witnessed Vietnam honoured in 45 categories of the WTA 2023.
The UK-based WTA was first established in 1993 to annually acknowledge, reward, and celebrate excellence across all key sectors of the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries, which includes various categories such as airlines, hotels, resorts, tour operators, and travel destinations.
