Vietnam named among top 20 winter-sun destinations by Time Out
VOV.VN - UK-based travel magazine Time Out has listed Vietnam among the world’s 20 best destinations to enjoy sunshine from October to February, ranking the country 16th overall.

The magazine noted that visitors traveling to Vietnam during summer will encounter the monsoon season. However, “if they go between October and February, they will be treated to the same world-renowned scenery without the constant downpours,” it wrote.
“Make the most of wallet-friendly transport and accommodation costs and traverse the length of the country, stopping in Hanoi for jazz clubs, Hoi An for signature Cao Lau noodles, and Ho Chi Minh City for cool neighbourhoods,” the magazine added.
Other destinations featured in the top 20 include Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt, Namibia, Cyprus, Bali in Indonesia, Alicante and Gran Canaria in Spain, Phoenix in the United States, Praia in Cape Verde, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic.
Earlier, Hoi An Ancient Town in the central city of Da Nang was also recognized by Time Out as the best-value long-haul destination to visit this winter. The magazine shared that a three-course evening meal for two in Hoi An, including a bottle of house wine, costs under £40, while a local lager is priced at £1.23.
Beyond the bargains, Time Out described Hoi An as “one of Vietnam’s most photogenic cities, with cobbled streets curling around a lantern-lit river, world-class street food, idyllic beaches and a buzzing night market.”
