Vietnam attends International Travel Exchange expo in Laos

VOV.VN- A number of travel firms from five Vietnamese localities have attended the International Travel Exchange (Travex) Trade Fair which is currently taking place in Vientiane in Laos.

The event is being held as part of the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2024 which is underway in Vientiane from January 22 to January 27 with the aim of promoting co-operation and tourism among ASEAN member states.

On display at the Vietnamese booths were a range of typical tourism products related to adventure, health, and golf from five localities such as Dien Bien, Ninh Binh, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, and Quang Binh.

In particular, Vietnamese tourism businesses also introduced popular destinations of these localities and used the event as a platform to promote the National Tourism Year 2024 in Dien Bien.

The function is taking place amid the Vietnamese tourism industry recovering strongly after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The country’s participation in the Travex 2024 will create favourable conditions for travel firms to introduce their products and further contribute to positioning the national tourism brand "Vietnam - A safe, friendly, attractive, humane, hospitable, convenient destination" as part of the global map.

The country is projected to attract between 17 million and 18 million international visitors this year.
